Management

‘Live Performance Every Day’

The site is managed by the Sydney Opera House Trust, a panel comprising 10 members elected by the Governor of New South Wales based upon the nomination of the NSW Minister for Arts.

The Trust is financed through numerous ventures including through the hosting of cultural events, guided tours, the provision of the venue for hire to corporate groups and weddings, in addition to payments received from a significant number of corporate sponsors. This revenue enables the Trust to comfortably manage the heritage significance as well as providing for an ongoing scholarship into its history.

The trust is guided by four key goals, listed below:

Goal 1: Expand and internationalise our horizons in performing arts. Take a leadership position by leveraging our brand and capabilities.

Goal 2: Achieve a sustainable enterprise, which secures the appropriate government support and operational freedom to grow commercial and philanthropic returns.

Goal 3: Complete the interiors of Sydney Opera House to Utzon’s designs. Achieve a funding solution to the Opera Theatre project, venue renewal priorities and ongoing maintenance.

Goal 4: Nurture a performance culture, which utilises our resources and skills more efficiently and which explicitly values and acknowledges our people.
